結成以来、既に20年を越えるピンク・フロイドは、もはや存在自体が仙人のようなところさえある。そして彼らがこれまでに残した作品の数々は、仙人のような存在にふさわしく、年代とか評判とかを抜きにして、永遠の輝きを放ち続けている。

聴く人間を選ぶことはあっても、聴く場所は選ばないのがフロイドの音楽なのだが、あえていうなら自然の中で聴くのがいい。まるで、人間と自然の調和を見るかの如く、どんな背景にも不思議と似合ってしまうからだ。また、そのようにしてフロイドと接するのが、フロイドを知る近道にもなるのであろう。一切の情報は不用だ。総ては、その作品が物語っているということである。

Having been together for over 20 years since their formation, Pink Floyd has almost become a sage-like presence. And the works they have left behind, befitting such a sage-like existence, continue to shine with eternal brilliance, transcending age and reputation.

While Pink Floyd's music may be selective in who listens to it, it's not selective in where it's listened to. If I had to choose, I'd say listening to it in nature is best. It strangely suits any background, as if witnessing the harmony between humanity and nature. Furthermore, this way of encountering Pink Floyd is perhaps the shortest path to understanding them. No prior information is necessary. Everything is told through their works.
