ResponderEliminarPanama Limited Jug Band was a British rock band in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
The band was part of the blues scene in the London borough of Richmond , home of the Crawdaddy Club.
Band members were Denis Parker (vocals), Gary Compton (harmonica), Brian Strachan (guitar), Liz Hann (vocals), Pete Hozzell (vocals), Ron Needs (mandolin), and Anne Matthews (vocals). The band's name comes from a 1930 song by Bukka White.
Initially, they played blues -oriented music in the style of a jug band ; this can be heard on their first album, Panama Limited Jug Band, from 1969.
The second album, Indian Summer, was released in 1970 under the shortened band name "Panama Ltd" and is more closely compared to the progressive music of Captain Beefheart. Liz Hann had left the band and was replaced by Anne Matthews.
